Hand

Hand, der unterste Teil der obern Extremität, durch das Handgelenk mit dem Vorderarm verbunden. Man unterscheidet an ihr Handrücken und Hohl-H. (Handteller). Die H. besteht aus 27 Knochen [Tafel:Skelett I, 12], von denen 8 die Handwurzel, 5 die Mittel-H., 14 die Finger bilden; letztere bestehen aus je 3 (der Daumen nur aus 2) Gliedern, die unter sich durch ein Scharniergelenk, mit der Mittel-H. durch ein freies Gelenk verbunden sind. Die menschliche H. ist durch ihre zahlreichen Muskeln der beweglichste Teil des gesamten Körpers, die Fingerspitzen durch ihren Reichtum an Tastwärzchen und Gefühlsnerven vorzüglichstes Tastorgan. – Vgl.
